He has figured out that the buckle that is clipped by the chest moves up and down. Therefore he is able to move that buckle all the way down and takes both arms through the belt to free his arms. We were on the interstate when this happened. We pulled off the closest exit to fix it and had to keep watching him after that. I literally have to dig my elbows into the seat and throw all my weight behind pulling up the strap. I&rsquo;ve used so many car seats before and this one is ridiculous!! And I&rsquo;m not a small person. I&rsquo;m 5&rsquo;8&rdquo; 150 and I&rsquo;m in decent shape. I can&rsquo;t even imagine how a petite person would tighten these straps. My mother-in-law cannot do it either and even my husband has a hard time and curses the seat daily. I really wanted to love this seat but this one issue makes it so hard to use every day. And I&rsquo;m still not sure my child is as secure as I would want her. Also, I&rsquo;ve been using the seat for over a year and it hasn&rsquo;t gotten better&mdash;at first I thought that feature just needed to &ldquo;break in&rdquo; but it hasn&rsquo;t changed. I had to return it before it was ever used because my son who is 25lbs and 18 months could barely get in the seat with the straps being as loosened as much as they could. Once he was in the seat it was nearly impossible to tighten and we have a large Ford F-150 super crew. I have the Britax advocate and the length of the straps are a non issue (as you&rsquo;ll see in my pictures with the two car seats). I returned the one4life after consulting with Britax about my concerns and reordered a new one. I just received it today and same thing! Straps are way too short. There is no way this seat would last more than a couple of years using the harness system. My advocate can loosen over 17 inches and reach the end of the seat and this seat won&rsquo;t even loosen 11 inches or beyond the smallest groin buckle setting. I waited what seems like forever for this seat to become available and I&rsquo;m so disappointed. The Britax One4Life&reg; Premium ClickTight&reg; All-in-One Car Seat is an impressive one that looks as safe as it feels. Just looking at it makes me even remark how comfortable and secure it must be being in that seat. The adjustable headrest, padded inserts down to the straps and buckles are all very well-made. I specifically love the vegan leather accent as it adds a sense of luxury, something that haven&rsquo;t had before when it comes to my baby gears. Aside from the admirable aesthetics, the versatility and functionality of this car seat will surely be beneficial for years as it grows with my child. Upon arrival I was impressed that once out of the box - the setup was a breeze. Fully assembled, just needed to adjust to my sons height and move the safety latch up one notch which was pleasantly easy as I have struggled with other brands to maneuver that rectangle thru many times before. Not with this one, smooth and secured in place. Once ready to get into the car, the red button threw me off at first for the incline, as it was on both sides of the seat. Adjust the incline before putting in the car to save yourself the few minutes of frustration after buckling it in! I chose to use the seatbelt buckle/anchor and forward facing for my 40lb 3yo. Once I got the incline set, the lift of the seat was so graceful! No need to thread the buckle thru the back of the seat fishing thru frantically the other side like I have with other seats. Time for the kiddo to try this out. First reaction - he was SO impressed with the additional padding on the center buckle. He thinks this is the fanciest big boy seat he has seen! I love the brown leather accents on this seat. Makes it feel like an upgraded luxury seat which will be around for a long time. What I love the MOST? Removable cupholders that can go into the dishwasher! GAME CHANGER! No more sticky, no idea what that goo is, whoops left an apple core in there too long, can't clean the corners of that cupholer with a baby wipe messes in the cupholders! Just twist, pop out and into the dishwasher they go! Overall, I rate this as the best upgraded car seat I've had with all of my kids. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't sure If I should transition my daughter to a stand-alone booster seat at her age; they seem unsafe and too easily movable. Now that we have the Britax seat, I feel confident knowing that we have a secure, comfortable option as she continues to grow. I have two girls, 2 and 5, and when we received this car seat, we were using car seats from two other brands. We were going to replace the car seat for my 2 year old since she needed a forward facing car seat so the Britax car seat came at a perfect time. The installation of the Britax car seat was SO easy. First, I was able to lift the Britax car seat into the car without any trouble. (We have another car seat that is so heavy that I had to get my husband to lift the other car seat into the car.) I quickly reviewed the manual of the Britax car seat and I unclipped the tether in the back of the car seat. I then selected the recline setting. I really loved the 9-position recline feature because it made it so easy to find the best position for my daughter. Then I was able to install the Britax very easily because of the clicktight system. In three easy steps (opening up the clicktight panel, threading the belt and buckling it, and then closing the panel), I knew installation was done properly because of the clicktight system. Then I went to the back of the seat and clipped the V-shaped tether in place. When I installed the Britax car seat, I noticed how nice the fabric was. The Britax came with vegan leather accents which was beautiful. I also read that the fabric for the Britax can be washed. We haven&rsquo;t had to remove the fabric to wash it, but it is a huge relief to know that the fabric for the Britax is machine washable. We have another car seat that has fabric that is not machine washable and after using it for a year, we have concluded that is not an acceptable feature. When your child vomits in the car and the fabric is not machine washable, there is still a lingering smell despite using stain removers and cleaning kits. When my 5 year old saw the Britax, she begged me to let her sit in it. She loved the feel of the fabric and the 2 cup holders. Her other car seat only has 1 cup holder. My 5 year old sat in the Britax and we had to go somewhere for an hour and she never complained that it was uncomfortable. In fact, she fell asleep 10 minutes into the trip and napped the entire time. With her other car seat, she never napped for that long. My 5 year old daughter really loves the 2 cup holders. She puts her bottle in one cup holder and toys in the other one. I really like having a car seat that grows with your child instead of having to worry about replacing a car seat every few years. We have used the Britax car seat for 2 weeks and we love it. We plan on using this car seat until my 5 year old doesn&rsquo;t need a car seat anymore and we look forward to using the booster feature when she gets to that age. I love that the carseat can grow with your child from newborn to booster. The fabric is soft and breathable while the vegan leather accents look very high end! I was worried how the leather accents would wear over time but they seem very well made and wipe clean easily! I tested it out with my 5 year old (forward facing harness) and my 3 year old (rear facing) and both thought the seat was very soft and well cushioned! My 5 year old would have appreciated if the crotch strap was a couple inches longer but it was just a minor inconvenience while getting him buckled. If you've ever installed a carseat you know that it can be a full body workout but the One4Life clicktight is the easiest carseat I have ever installed (I didnt even break a sweat!), making it very easy if you need to quickly change between cars (downside being that it's also probably the heaviest carseat I've used, however it's definitely worth it for how easy it is to install). I found the straps a little difficult to tighten at first but they got easier after about a week of daily use! I appreciate that the cupholders can be removed and go in the dishwasher. The one downside is that we couldn't put it in our van. When we installed it in the minivan, it came to the edge of the seat which, according to manual, you cannot install it that way. We weren't searching for a new seat -- we already had too many! -- but we've been doing car seat storage Jenga while one kid grew out of them and the other kid wasn't quite into them. The One4Life is perfect for our almost-4-year-old, who is just getting used to this forward-facing life. But I can see this extending enough that it should work for many years to come -- eliminating a couple seats we had waiting in the wings -- and it will work as a booster! The seat itself is great -- the fabrics are soft and plush, and with a few vented portions keep it from getting sweaty and hot. My kiddo said it was more comfortable, but her favorite feature: TWO cupholders, one for her water bottle and another dedicated to crayons and markers. The install was as simple as could be in our station wagon. The instructions and well-marked level made it really easy. No wiggling at all, and the V-shaped tether was easy to adjust. I haven't had occasion to need it, but I'm grateful it came with guidance on how to wash it -- removable/washable cover is a must-have for me. One potential con, depending on how you want to use this seat: It's very heavy. I would not plan on casually carrying this through an airport without assistance. My first impression was that &ldquo;Premium&rdquo; is the right word to use in the product name. This car seat looks and feels premium in almost every way. I have 3 kids, but wanted this seat to be the one to grow with my 16 month old. Her old car seat feels small and I question her head angle. Since the old seat only had 2 angle options for rear facing, I didn&rsquo;t have the ability to adjust. This Britax One4Life Premium seat has many more angle options, so I&rsquo;ve been able to set her in a very comfortable and safe position. Once she was in the seat, it&rsquo;s clear this One4Life Premium seat is roomier for her, and she just looks a lot more calm and comfortable. The materials used in this seat are clearly high end and premium. They look great, comfortable, and will be much easier to clean when it inevitably gets dirty. I especially like the ventilated parts of the seats. All summer I worried about my daughter overheating in our old seat. I even had to buy a clip on fan to cool her. This small feature just makes me feel more confident my little one won&rsquo;t be sweating too much on hotter days. Installing the seat was a breeze, though the seat is bigger and feels heavier than our other seats. I don&rsquo;t mind the extra weight since it feels very well built and safe, and we plan to keep the seat in the same spot for a long time. The top of the seat is a handle which really helped carry it around before installation. I love the one click technology. I was able to unbox, install and adjust all the straps for my daughter very quickly. It is also very easy to adjust the seat from rear to forward position. I used the anchors to clip into our car. They were easy to click onto the car but they don&rsquo;t have the button release I&rsquo;ve had on all my other seats. I wonder if this will make it more difficult to unclick later. (Though I&rsquo;m certain it will prevent any accidental anchor releases which have been a problem for me before with other seats) That said, the anchor belt was very easy to expand and tighten. It doesn&rsquo;t look like tangling will be a problem at all. The Britax One4Life Premium is incredibly handsome with its black knit fabric and brown vegan leather accents (which are also moisture and stain resistant, as well as washer/dryer safe!!). The kids tell me that it&rsquo;s super comfy, and I believe them&mdash;I&rsquo;m quite certain its more cushioned than any other in the truck! I chose to give this car seat a test run in the rear facing position, as both of my children are under 50lbs (my 4.5yr old is forward facing in her current seat as she&rsquo;s at its limit, but the One4Life can rear face to 50lbs!!). I also installed with with the lap/shoulder belt vs the LATCH system, as my children are over the 30lb limit and the belt install is Britax&rsquo;s recommended method. Pros: -Beautiful! -Easy clean fabric and cup holders (dishwasher safe!) -Great access for install -Comfortable at every stage! I find that many seats only offer the extra comfy inserts for newborns and then once the child outgrows the insert, the seat loses all cushion. Not the case here! The infant insert definitely adds A LOT of cushion, but even with it removed, the seat is still luxe. -I wasn&rsquo;t out of breath after the install&hellip;one of the easiest I&rsquo;ve done! -Not super slim, but doesn&rsquo;t seem incredibly wide either. I had this installed in a 3 across situation and this seat didn&rsquo;t compete for space. Granted, it was installed with 2 of the slimmest car seats on the market and we have a wide back seat. -9 recline positions and 15 point headrest/harness Cons: -It&rsquo;s heavy. Not the bulkiest car seat I&rsquo;ve used, but it&rsquo;s got some weight to it. I wouldn&rsquo;t recommend if you need to move it between cars often. -The recline level is not incredibly intuitive. You really need to keep the manual handy to figure out what&rsquo;s allowed in what position. -They don&rsquo;t make it in adult size! Super easy to install, just squeeze tabs and lift. No mystery or hassle. Quality material with soft cushion that keeps its form after washing. I used gentle delicate cycle in cold water and is quick drying even on extra low heat. Quick wipe down also works well and dries quickly. My 3 yr old sweats a lot and it has kept her very comfortable even in this southern 95+ degree heat. Best part: Say goodbye to the mystery bottom buckle hassle. This has a padded cushion that acts as a weight so when my kiddo sits she is not sitting on the bottom buckle and we all know it is not fun to fish for that after your kid is sitting. The harness is thicker too and does not twist easily. More importantly, my child cannot unbuckle the top clasp across chest. Kudos to the design team! The height itself is higher and my toddler loves to look out the window. The carseat width is a spacesaver - not as bulky and does not overflow to the middle seat of my car backseat. Ideal for passengers or in my case, baby #2's carseat. Plenty of legroom too for a growing toddler. The One4Life Premium ClickTight seat is super-cushy, and it looks like the inside of a luxury vehicle; the soft vegan leather embellishments are an excellent touch, and my child was very comfortable with how padded and soft the seat is. This seat was, by far, the easiest car seat I have ever installed. The click tight installation was extremely easy, and I was honestly shocked by how perfect of an install I was able to get using it; there was no movement at the belt path at all, and I didn't have to fight with the seat at all in order to get the tight installation. Because of this, it was quick and easy to move the seat from my vehicle to my partner's vehicle. That is by far my favorite feature of the One4Life Premium ClickTight seat. My second favorite feature is the removable cup holders (which are dishwasher safe). I think the material is high quality and love that the cup holders come out easily and are dishwasher safe. The straps are easier to buckle and do not get twisted. The Britax seat was not as easy to install as my other car seat the buckles took a little bit to figure out where they were initially hooked to inside the car seat. The latches also are not as easy to undo compared to my other seat. My favorite feature of the car seat is the colors and fabric it was made with and the vented sides.
