It does keep my water cold for a good period of time, but it seems like you have to suck pretty hard to get the water to come out and it makes a high pitch sound when you drink. Stainless steel bottles are my favorite to drink from, this one can keep drinks cold up to 24hrs and keep liquid warm for 6hrs. The BIG downfall for me with this bottle is that you can only wash the lid in the dishwasher, not the bottle. My son continues to choose this Contigo bottle. He likes that isn&rsquo;t not a wild color or pattern and he really likes the locking lid as an extra leak protection tool. The bottle has never leaked and keeps water cold. I really like that it&rsquo;s a straw spout so he doesn&rsquo;t accidentally spill water all over his desk or computer. The only issue I have is that&rsquo;s the bottle is really tall. Would rather have something shorter and wider. The height causes it to fall out of his backpack side pockets and it also can tip out of the car cup holder. Just a minor thing I would change. For the amount of water it holds, it's a great design Most of them tend to be so wide that they don't easily fit in your hand or traditional cup holders. Being able to hide the spout/mouthpiece is great for placing the bottle in a backpack without worrying about spilling. The lock feature gives a little peace of mind that the spout won't come loose. It also seems to hold up well in the dishwasher. My 9 year old son's only objection to this water bottle is that if you take a drink, then hide the spout, then press the button to release the spot again, you get a tiny little splash. Their bottles last forever, survive the dishwasher and are a good price for just about everyone. I love their straw type bottles most, but what I really love is the auto spout button. One push and you can have a sip of your drink without having to untwist or even touch the mouth piece. In my line of work I come into contact with nasty stuff and don't want that anywhere near the mouth of my bottle. I also like how the button can lock so I can toss it in my bag and not have to worry about it opening up. The one gripe I have with this bottle is not the bottle itself... I love the metal bottle because it keeps my drink cold but it does not keep my drink cold very long like some other bottles I currently own. If I put ice in it at 8am by around noon I have no ice. I have been using it in the winter time so the warm temps outside cannot be to blame. I also really dislike how it's painted. If the bottle was left stainless steel it would never show scratches. The black paint after just a week of use is scratched just about everywhere. The bottom, the sides, a simple fall sideways on my desk results in a long scratch that is visible from every angle. My personal solution to this was to buy water bottle stickers to hide all the boo-boos it has and will develop overtime. We probably a total of 10 different models of Contigo water bottles, ane each of the are amazing. But this is the first 24oz we have and the extra water makes it special, because it means refills during the day. It is tall and thin so it still fit on both my cars cup holders. Excellent keeping the coold and hot temperatures of my berverages, no one better than the Contigo bottles. The Autospout Lid is also my first model, we only have it like that in all the kids bottles, it is easy to drink and don't spill water easily, also very convenient for a tall bottle not to have to lift to drink. Something also very convenient is the pivot hook to carry it, and garb it. The only down side as always with the metal Contigo bottles is that the paint peel of very easy.
