<span itemprop="description">I received this as a baby shower gift for my twins. Within the first 2 months the carbon filter holder broke however I kept using. Next the hinge broke off on one side of the top which now it’s impossible to use correctly because the top has to be propped on there and the foot pedal is useless because the top hinge is broken. I’ve used a diaper genie 7 years ago when my first was born and they were made a whole lot better. Now it’s just a waste of money because there is no replacement lids and basically useless. I’m stuck with tons of refills and a useless diaper genie!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I spent a great deal of time sifting through the many options of baby products before my baby arrived and felt that the diaper genie brand was the most reliable! Welp, safe to say after only 5 short months it BROKE and I am incredibly disappointed! How can a product break so quickly after such a short time? I’m not sure if the plastic is just made weaker now-a-days but my family was shocked that the back piece (creating the lid to open and flaps to open) cracked and fell right off in the middle of a diaper change. As a first time parent you want something you can rely on getting you through the first year (at least) especially when it comes to diaper changes and this has made me question whether or not I’ll replace with another genie or move on to another brand.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Added this to our registry after rave reviews. Maybe the one we got was just defective but it has been a major headache. From the get go the lid has never closed properly and by week 4 the pieces that slide open and closed inside the genie have malfunctioned. One side remains immobile. I’ve wasted too much time looking up YouTube reviews on how to fix it. More trouble than anything. Thankfully our baby is less than 2 months and the diapers haven’t started to stink yet.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We had a great Elite diaper Genie that held so many diapers and was so easy to replace the liner. After 4 years the lid lifter broke (was well used) so we replaced it with exactly the same one. Unfortunately they changed the design so the bag cutter is in an awkward place. You have to shove the diapers way down to get the lid to close, which has your hand, wrist and arm deep inside a soiled plastic sleeve. It only holds four or five diapers before it is full - the other one would have 10-15. The change in design was a disaster. If you don't shove the diaper way down, the lid will stay slightly ajar and stink up the room. I recommend another design change because this one is not good.</span>

I bought the diaper genie elite and it is a nightmare!! It is poorly made, the diapers don't fall through to the bag, therefore the lid rarely ever closes leaving your space stinky because it isn't sealed. I can't understand how a product can get so much worse than the original design. It's absolute garbage, do not buy the diaper genie elite, I wish I could get my money back. The worst!</span>

<span itemprop="description">We recieved the Diaper Genie a few months ago and it was working fine. However the lid would stop opening and then eventually it all fell apart. The spring mechanism at the back also broke. We were very disappointed since it was fairly new.</span>

<span itemprop="description">We love the concept and love the product but a piece of the plastic stem that holds the lid to the foot petal snapped. tried to reassemble but with the piece snapped it no longer works. Very disappointed to only get through 2 months.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I bought my diaper genie 4 months back and though I loved it at the start, it is already broken now. When I foot on the pedestal the lid wont close all the way through. The inner compartment lid doesn’t close at all and the smell is seeping in the nursery.
My baby is only 4 and a half month old and I don’t know if buying a replacement will also last through his diaper years</span>
