Something has to be wrong, it should not be this difficult to do I would think. As a babysitter I was not given the instructions that came with this seat. At closer inspection the carry handle is to be turned towards the feet when transporting? I love the color and thought it would be perfect for my son. First when I unboxed it, the whole thing looked very flimsy and the handle was deformed/twisted from being in the box. This made me automatically concerned with the structural integrity of the seat. Before I decided to use the seat I wanted to check it out well, after all my child was going to be in it for safety. This seat overall is very cheaply made. The plastics are the biggest issue. They are very flimsy and I don't feel comfortable using this car seat in an actual vehicle. The handle bowes under pressure or from carrying the baby around. It is also bent. My son is only 4 months old and he is pretty long however he doesn't fit very well in this seat. His feet already hang off and the seat seams to be narrow so he's kind of squished in there. The plastics have some sharp edges as well. I do not like the plastic clip, I'm used to metal clips that work smoothly, these do not. There is no real padding to speak so your baby will be sitting on hard plastic that is covered. I wasn't crazy about that since we do a lot of traveling. It was fairly easy to install and easy to adjust the straps. The only thing I really liked about the seat was the cover , the material is cool and easy to clean. The straps are flexible as well and easy to clean. I won't use this seat in the car for my son, however I have given it to my daughter for her life size baby doll. I hope this review helps. Mama to 10. My mom watches our son a few days a week and we keep this car seat in the car that she uses and it's especially perfect for grandparents. It's extremely lightweight (more so than the one that clips into our stroller travel system), very sturdy, comfortable gripping handle, and easy to get baby in and out of. My mom hates our other car seat and has trouble getting it clipped in and out of it's base which is not the case for the for the Nurture. Baby seems to be comfortable while riding in the car seat and on longer car trips, naps with no problems :) We find it very easy to use and my mom says this car seat is a major upgrade from the big and bulky one of the past she used on us kids. We also love the stylish blue and turquoise color. This is my 3rd infant seat, and of course we&rsquo;ve had countless variations on big kid seats. First the positives: this seat is very lightweight. If you&rsquo;ve ever lugged around a baby in a carrier, you know what a big plus that is. Also, the blue color is bright and adorable. But. This thing took me embarrassingly long to figure out how to use. Adjusting the straps, loosening and tightening them around the child, and getting the seat on and off the base were all very different than any seat I&rsquo;ve used before, which isn&rsquo;t a good thing. My husband made the observation that everything is operated from the back of the seat, which would probably be convenient in a situation with an actual baby in an actual seat in the van. But our baby won&rsquo;t be here till spring, so I can&rsquo;t properly test that theory. He&rsquo;s probably right, but my pregnant mind was annoyed that I had to think hard about how to operate something as simple as an infant seat (which should be simple to a 4-time mom). Also, I was excited to have an infant seat that could snap onto my Pivot Xpand (which is my very favorite stroller in the whole world, btw). But it doesn&rsquo;t fit! It&rsquo;s ultimately not the end of the world, because the stroller is so flexible, I can have a reclined rear-facing seat on the top anyway, but the ease of using the baby car seat would be nice. So, if it&rsquo;s your first car seat, this is probably a good option because you won&rsquo;t be biased on how straps etc. are supposed to function. It is lightweight, which is honestly one of the most important features of one of these seats. But I was hoping for more. This comes with a base that can be used to easily install and remove the car seat from a vehicle. The base allows for using either the LATCH system or a locking seat belt. The car seat can be installed using just a locking seat belt system without the base. We love the blue and teal color on ours. The fabric is ok as it&rsquo;s not as soft or plush as other seats! I do not like that you have to tighten the straps from the back of the seat, leads to more errors in properly restraining the child as it requires reading the manual to know how to correctly tighten the straps! It's very lightweight so it is easy to carry without too much fatigue. The negatives are it's a REALLY loud click when it snaps into the base... enough to wake a sleeping babe. And it doesn't just sit directly down onto the base, it takes a certain angle for it to sit. But on the plus, I'm confident it's secured into it's base, no question that it's not clicked in. Secondly would be the weight limit. My babes are not small so my now 7 month old is too big for it. I'm ready to put him in a convertible at this point anyhow, but if you love using an infant seat for as long as possible, I wouldn't suggest this one. This seat maxes at 22lb so not a long life for a good size baby. Overall I think for the price it is a great option.
