It was installed by a certified car seat installer and I have not taken it out of my car until I noticed the crack. No damage was done to the seat. It is parked in my garage out of the sun. There is no reason for this to have happened. This is ridiculous. I bought this car seat thinking it would last me through my daughters toddler years.</span>

No, the seat must remain rear facing until the child meets all requirements to be turned forward facing including the age of the child in which they must be at least 2 years of age.

The Tribute car seats have a 6 year life span from manufacture date. The manufacture date is found on the back of the seat as well as the registration card that comes with the seat.
