It is actually a really great product - he likes it because it is way cool to rapid fire Nerf darts and I like it because the darts actually come out at a lower velocity than a lot of the other Nerf guns. He was able to figure out the directions himself and troubleshoot it when it jams (which seems to happen a bit more frequently than other models we have owned.) If you are looking for a gift to wow a 9 year old boy - this might be it.</span>

The Rapid Strike is also automatic, but not as fast as the Hyper Fire. This Nerf blaster is really awesome because it has a rolling track like mechanism that pushes the darts out ultra smoothly which reduces the jam factor to nearly nothing!</span>

Including batteries the gun is a little heavy to run around with and to use extensively when compared to non-battery operated guns. The trigger is definitely easy to squeeze for a 5 year old and a 3 year old can carry it if they tried. But if they drop it, you'll hear it.

You cannot attach a stock and there is no lug on the barrel for attachments. You could attach a sight.
