It's perfect for teaching sounds, animals, and words. The buttons and different lights and sounds keep my child's attention, no screen needed! I try very hard to keep my children's screen time low and encourage playtime outdoors, but for the youngest one, this toy is perfect. It also helps with his manual dexterity and cause/effect problem solving.
The toy is battery operated and I haven't found a single issue with anything! All the lights and sounds and buttons work perfectly every time.
Thanks again, VTech, for making yet another high quality and fun educational toy! I recommend this and any other VTech toy! You just can't go wrong with this one!</span>

It has a small blue string that the child can use to pull it along.. when the train is pulled it, the sound of a train on train tracks plays which is super cute. I think it's been great for hand eye coordination and we are working on colors so we use this to help him point to them. I think my little loves he can push the buttons to make the animals appear. He gets so excited when he does it by himself.
Overall a well built quality toy that is fun and can be educational too!</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In general we love VTech products. They are durable and can stand up to rough play and their sound quality is good - not annoying and robotic like other toys.
This train combines the fun of a rolling toy with the fun of a pop-up toy. The 3 animals pop up after the child pushes, flips or turns the button/key. The buttons are color coordinated with the animal's lid - when you push the purple triangle the purple lid pops up and the bear comes up. My child is 2 years old and LOVES to play peek-a-boo and giggles when the animals pop up. Younger kids might need help using 2 hands. One hand to keep the train still while using the other hand to push the buttons. Playing with it on a carpeted surface might help keep it in place.
The sound bites seem to have basic accurate information. When the fox pops up it says “The fox likes to hide in a den.” “The bear likes to eat honey.” etc.
The train’s smoke stack lights up and blinks along with the music.The package claims over 70 different sounds/songs but my kid flips through them so fast I can't say how many songs it plays.
I like that the train has an on/off and volume switch, but it’s right on the front and my child is smart enough to see me turn it off and copy me and turn it back on. You can still pop the animals up and down when it’s turned off.
The train will play music when it rolls while being pushed or pulled. Ours didn’t work right away but I flipped it over and manually rolled the wheels and started working just fine. All in all we are enjoying this train and recommend it.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun toy for little ones. So many options of things it can do. Lot of buttons to push. There's several things it will say and sing. It teaches about the animals on the train and characteristics of each animal. There's a string so kids can pull it around. Honestly my 4 year old loves this thing too even though it is a toy for his baby brother! The only thing I wish the string was a little longer for when they are pulling it. Pretty sturdy toy that can take a beating and keep going.</span>

Material of the toy is also great I didn't see anything not safe.</span>

It is GREATLY appreciated that it has two volume level options on it; until he learns how to increase the volume on his own! I love that it has a few different songs programmed in so that it's not the same song over and over.</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super fun and entertaining. My 10monyh old loves pushing the buttons,clapping and dancing. He does not completely walk yet but the string alows him to still drag it around. He can pretty easily navigate the buttons to make everything popup and laughs hysterically when they do. I do wish there was some lights on this but otherwise it's great!</span>

<span itemprop="description">[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We weren't sure if this would be a toy that our daughter would be be entertained by because she's two but to say that she loved it is an understatement. She immediately started screaming my toy right of the package. This toy is great because it's not too big and can easily be brought along with you on a car ride. She really enjoyed and the sounds and lights on the toy. She had a blast with this toy. The best part is there no small pieces to worry about. So your child can play worry free.</span>
