Only needed it for wintertime). However, when we pulled it of the box this winter, the sensor to read the water level suddenly stopped working. The tank would be full and the unit would still blink blue 3xs and no longer work. We only used distilled water, cleaned it regularly, and stored properly. The new spout is narrow and with grooves, making it SO hard to clean! We put lavender and purified water in it as it supposed to be a &ldquo;diffuser&rdquo;. If you put any oil in, it gets this weird smell. Unlike other humidifiers, you can&rsquo;t clean it super well. We&rsquo;ve tried everything to bring it back, but unfortunately we are just going to have to buy a different brand. Definitely save your money and buy a different one!
