<span itemprop="description">Why does Medela not offer smaller flange sizes than 21mm ?
I purchased a Freestyle Flex and it's a great pump but my flange size is incorrect and leading to pain ... Because of the special design of the pump and the flanges ... You cannot even find other brands of flanges that work with this pump ..... What gives Medela ?? Looking for smaller flange sizes please.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I have the Madela Freestyle breast pump which I purchased 4 years ago. After having another baby and seeing a lactation consultant they recommended that I get a smaller shield which I did. I noticed that the design had changed and In comparison to the plastic ones that came with my pump, the smaller ones I purchased had a soft ring and did not seal well. Feel like I just wasted money and still don’t have a solution.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Shield sucks for having a short length to connect</span>
<span itemprop="description">I like the fit of the flanges but they are way too short for the pump in style max flow in pushes your nipples into Membrane. I wish the smaller size flange was the same size length as the 24 mm size flange. Hate that I wasted my money.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Right shape but doesn’t last</span>
<span itemprop="description">I loved these when I first got them because I prefer the shape of the shield but after using them a few times the white silicone starts to flatten out and no longer hold its shape. As a result I lose suction when pumping and milk gets out all the way around the shield. When I first stated pumping I had this same shape shield without the silicone and I loved it but it broke and medela no longer makes them that way! I have purchased two sets of these shields and they have both flattened out. It doesn’t seem to matter how I’ve cleaned and sanitized them either. Great concept but not well executed. Don’t waste your money.</span>

<span itemprop="description">While I love the feel of this flange, but the tunnel is too short causing my nipple to hit the connector. I had to go back to using the personal fit hard plastic flange :(</span>

<span itemprop="name">After pumping 3 months - this is game changer!!</span>
<span itemprop="description">I am completely shocked how well my breasts responded to these shields. I have the Medela Advanced, so I was using the regular plastic parts. My SIL convinced me to try these, and I am easily pumping out more milk than I was before! Usually, I would have to massage and massage the entire time, but with these, I only have to massage to encourage my first let down.
They are also surprisingly more comfortable than the plastic shields. I didn't realize the plastic shields were uncomfortable until I put these on. :-)

<span itemprop="description">I ordered the smallest size. I was so disappointed with how short the "barrel" part is. It has rendered these useless. Which sucks because they are more comfortable than the standard. I tried using a lower setting and my supply suffered.</span>

<span itemprop="description">I got these in almost two weeks ago with my new Sonata breast pump and love them! But I REALLY wish you offered them in other sizes!! I need a 19 mm for the correct size and wish you made them because I love everything else about this breast shield! It’s comfortable, the shaping fits much better, I don’t have to adjust them all the time like the others. I just need the right size!</span>
