I cant use my medela pump efficiently because the tunnel on the breast shield is so short the nipple hits the back of the shield and no milk is expressed since there is a physical barrier impeding the suction. That is on a medium setting. Once I am halfway into my pumping session I need a lot of suction in order to completely empty my breasts, that is impossible with the tunnel on the medela breast shielfs ... even on size 24mm my nipples stretch all the way to the back of the tunnel after a few minutes. I am back to using my Spectra pump! The only reason the rating is 2 stars is because I like the pump itself and the suction levels it offers. Early in the day or when my breasts are quite full, it's fine, but the rest of the day and when I'm &quot;emptier,&quot; my nipple hits the end (this is probably 85% of the time or more). I truly feel it results in less milk. I'm currently trying some different hacks such as gluing them in place on my pump or adding a seal so the flange does not slide quite so far into the pump when attaching the two pieces. Also, even when my nipple does not hit the end, my milk output does not increase as advertised. Worth the investment for sure - supply has continually increased since starting using these 10 days ago &amp; they are much more comfortable than the standard flanges.
