I received this through my insurance, and it survived to ten months before the motor started to fail, and at eleven months it now doesn't work at all. Even before that though, pieces of it failed (luckily before the warranty was up, but that's a problem in and of itself) and had to be replaced. Since I'm winding down pumping now, it truly doesn't even feel worth asking for a replacement. Even if I keep it new in the box, a huge part of me feels like by the time we're ready for the next baby, it will be nonfunctional. Two stars. Fine for a free product through insurance. I don't recommend paying for it unless you're someone who's happy jumping through hoops and keeping their eyes on warranty timelines.
Date published: 2025-04-15

Rated 1 out of 5 by Taaybrooke804 from “Updated” isn’t always better.. This pump was such a disappointment compared to the old square-version of this pump. I absolutely loved the old one and used it with my two oldest kids, it never let me down. However, this upgraded version lasted me a literal week before it stopped working and it seriously jeopardized my supply in the early stages of breastfeeding. There wasn’t much I really liked about it, and here’s what I didn’t like: 1. The connectors: They may look fancy, but the company took something that worked and made it unnecessarily complex. I didn’t like not being able to see how much I was pumping or if I was still lactating. The membranes come unsealed and will stop all suction on the affected side. Found this out during a 2 a.m. pump and was covered in milk by the end of disconnecting, dismantling and repairing it. Not a pleasant experience. Also wasn’t as simple to quickly clean. 2. The suction of this pump is much greater than the old style, even on the lowest setting. It’s very painful when you have cracked, raw nipples from getting used to your baby’s latch. I would close my eyes and press the power button. Initially, I thought it was just that I was extremely sore.. until I used a different pump, then I realized that the suction was just much more powerful. 3. The fact that it isn’t encased in anything like the old style was makes it much more vulnerable. I was constantly paranoid about my kids tripping over the cord and knocking it down. 4. I discovered at 11 p.m. at night that it decided to just stop working when pressing the power button and it didn’t turn on. My husband troubleshooted the issue, which ended up being the piece that you plug the power cord into. It was too late to go buy another pump, and I was in the early stages where 8-10 hours without expressing could have seriously diminished my supply. This resulted in my husband waking up every 3 hours with me to hold the pump in a particular way so it would stay on.. even then, it kept turning off repeatedly. This pump was honestly a nightmare. There is a one year warranty on the motor, but I don’t even want it replaced for free. If I could go back, I would’ve paid a little extra when using my insurance to get the Spectra. Thankfully, my friend had kept her old-style Medela that I was able to pick up the next day. Of course, none of the parts were compatible.. but after purchasing the old style parts and going back to what works, things have been smooth sailing since. Steer clear of this pump.
Date published: 2025-04-13

Rated 2 out of 5 by Katee25 from Buy something else My baby is 2 months old and we’re on our THIRD motor for this pump. It stopped working after I used a sterilizer that wasn’t Medela brand and due to that they no longer will cover the parts on their warranty. I now have to go back and spend more money on a different brand. I will be using Lansinoh as my brand because I’ve been able to use it without any issues as my secondary pump, if you have a chance to buy anything, don’t buy from this company.
Date published: 2025-04-10

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brandi Henry from DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PRODUCT I’m not one for writing reviews, but I hope it saves someone from choosing this awful product through their insurance or worse, spending their own money on it. This product sucks. It is so loud so I hope you’re not trying to be discreet, the suction is awful and there is no timer. What took me 10-15 minutes to pump with my old spectra takes at least 20 minutes— if not more— with this one and I’m Not even confident that it’s fully emptying me out. When I had my very first child 12 years ago, I was given a medela and I loved it, which is why I chose this one this time. The quality of medela products has gone downhill majorly. I’m embarrassed I wasted my insurance pump on this and will likely resort to using my own money to buy a better pump, which is something I shouldn’t have to do. If you’re considering this pump, Do yourself a favor and Don’t waste your time with this one.
Date published: 2025-04-01

Rated 1 out of 5 by Becca K from Quality subpar - not recommended This pump is terrible, what a waste of my insurance. I chose the Medela In Style pump because my 8 year old Medela In Style pump was amazing. I was able to use that pump as needed for my first child and when I exclusively pumped for my second child. When pregnant with my third child it wasn’t a question which pump I would be getting because of the success I’d had with Medela previously. The product quality has significantly gone down over the last 8 years. I feel bad that I recommended Medela to all of my friends and family not realizing how much the product has changed. I’m upset that I did not do more research and instead purchased based on my past experiences expecting the quality to be the same. I have an oversupply and donate to a milk bank so having a quality pump is a must, this is not it.
Date published: 2025-03-16

Medela Pump In Style with MaxFlow Technology, Closed System Quiet Portable Double Electric Breastpump, with PersonalFit Flex Breast Shields Reviews - page 2

y_2025, m_4, d_24, h_4

bvseo_bulk, prod_bvrr, vn_bulk_3.0.42

cp_1, bvpage1

co_hasreviews, tv_7, tr_609

loc_en_CA, sid_64509BDE, prod, sort_[SortEntry(order=SUBMISSION_TIME, direction=DESCENDING)]

clientName_toysrus-ca

bvseo_sdk, dw_cartridge, 18.2.0, p_sdk_3.2.0

CLOUD, getReviews, 8ms

reviews, product
