My favorite thing about the Owlet is that it displays temperature and humidty. Other than that, I find it extremely unreliable and annoying to set-up on the go, especially given the cost. We have amazing internet connection and live in a small condo, so the camera is in close proximity to the modem. For some reason, the camera loses connection very frequently. Almost always, i will have the camera open on my phone while I sleep, and it disconnects while I sleep. Considering this is pretty much a camera for the paranoid parent, it's pretty disappointing that it has disconnected during many nights that I was so worried about my LO that I would have slept on the hardwood floor of my baby's room rather than not have a camera available - instead I go to sleep thinking the camera is ready to alert me to any weird sounds or movements, instead I wake up to the sound of my baby crying from another room, for who knows how long before it woke me up, and no way to check on him without going into his room and restarting the connection process all over again. This product is over complicated and unreliable. If I could get my money back, I would. When the connection/set-up does work, it does a good job being a camera, much like every other camera option on the market. Save yourself the money and headache, don't get sucked in by the marketing for this product. I would say my camera disconnects or has trouble connecting, at least 4 times a month. Oh! I always have the volume up and it constantly turns the volume off or disconnects from the camera altogether. I have to keep the app open and not use anything else - really drains phone battery. I do not recommend this product at all. It&rsquo;s constantly having issues connecting to WiFi. Please, do yourself a favor and buy a camera that&rsquo;s 1/3 of the price. Terrible quality. Ever since its updated, it&rsquo;s drained my phone battery, constantly disconnects even though I have it set up in the background, has issues connecting to WiFi, not to mention setting it up to WiFi already is a B - takes forever! Do. Not. The sock never worked. Just when my baby would fall asleep, it would disconnect from WiFi and chime incessantly waking him up and making us start the process of trying to get him down all over again. It was absolutely miserable. Either that or the sock would fall off him and I&rsquo;d get another anxiety-inducing alert. Now that my baby is sleeping in his own room in his crib I had hoped at least the camera would come in handy. However, the app will freeze/lag so horribly. Additionally, the camera has disconnected from WiFi so often and I try for hours to reconnect it until somehow it magically works. We struggled with the setup and wifi settings, which were advertised as very easy to use. Once we got the monitor up and running, it would often cut out from the wifi and close out the app during the night so we were not able to hear our baby cry. There is always a lag in the app when you open it, so I have to close out the app and re-open it if I want a current image. This lag caused us to think there was a man in our son's room one night (it was my husband, but from 4 hours before). I tried to return the monitor, but since we got it from our baby shower, we could not return due to the very specific requirements by Owlet. Overall, I would not ever buy products from this company again. However, I wish I would have read all the reviews on the internet regarding how these cameras are common to being hacked. After our little girl informed us that someone started talking to her, and she came running to my wife, it caused me to start researching. That is when I found numerous complaints that owlet can be hacked because of its lack of quality encryption or two way factor.
