The shushing noise is someone's voice and it is SUPER creepy. All of the sounds seems extra loud that I couldn't even use it anywhere in the room near the baby. Handy you csm charge it with a USB but that's about the only thing I liked about it. My baby boy who is 10 months old loves his baby acorn. It is easy to attach to his car seat, stroller, crib etc&hellip; he even loves to carry it with his hand. This has a different array of sounds. Some are lullabies, white noise, and I even love that it has a hushing noise. It has a nice soft glow that can be used as a night light. It is very easy to charge and then you can unplug it and take it on the go.
